There is a new way to SHOP with kynect. The Small Business Health Options Program, or SHOP, makes it easier for Employers with 50 or fewer workers to provide Employee health insurance. Employers decide payments, plans, dates and more. SHOP can even handle many of the details and billing for you.
Tax credits may be available for businesses with 25 or fewer employees. Check our Small Business Calculator to see what savings your company could see.
To qualify for tax credits, businesses meet three rules:
  • Have 25 or fewer full-time employees.
  • Pay at least 50 percent of Employee premiums.
  • Have a group average yearly wage less than $50,000.

Insurance agents working with kynect can recommend specific plans to both individuals and business owners. Insurance agents can enroll individuals and small businesses in any products offered through kynect, including the Medicaid and KCHIP programs for those who are eligible.

To work with kynect, an insurance agent must be currently licensed and in good standing with the Department of Insurance (DOI). kynect will require certain training in order to be registered on the system. Training may qualify as Continuing Education.
